Product Description

The Sigma 300-800mm f/5.6 EX DG HSM lens covers a huge focal length range from 300mm to the ultra-telephoto focus length of 800mm. By continuously varying the angle of view from 8.2º to 3.1º, the lens takes a lot of the footwork out of picture composition. This lens is perfectly suited to wildlife and sports photographers where a powerful focal length is essential.

Built to Sigma’s professional EX standards, this lens is designed to provide a superior image and build quality. Two Extraordinary Low Dispersion glass elements reduce chromatic aberration to a minimum and ensure sharp, quality images from the center to the edge of the frame.

To attain the highest quality images, the APO lens has been incorporated using special low-dispersion (SLD) glass. The effect of which minimizes color aberration throughout the image. This digitally optimized ultra-telephoto lens is equipped with Sigma’s Multi-Layer Coating technology that reduces both flare and ghosting. This also ensures an accurate color balance and high contrast images.

The internal focusing system ensures the overall length of the lens does not change during focusing, ensuring convenient handling and ease of use. The Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) ensures an ultra-quiet, high-speed autofocus as well as full-time manual focusing capability, making it possible to manually focus without leaving AF mode.

A 46mm filter can be inserted near the rear of the lens, and a circular polarising filter (included) can be used in situ. A heavy-duty tripod bush is included as standard for use with tripods and monopods. Multiple threaded holes allow accurate balancing of lens and camera body. This Sigma 500mm f/4. 5 EX DG APO Autofocus Lens for Sony/Minolta A-Mount lens is an Apochromatic ultra-telephoto lens for Sony or Minolta cameras with an A-mount. It has a fast f/4. 5 maximum aperture and it incorporates two ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass elements to reduce chromatic aberration to a minimum.

Internal focus enables responsive and fast autofocus speed. The improved DG lens design corrects for various aberrations. This lens is specially coated to get the best color balance whilst cutting down on ghosting caused by reflections from the digital image sensor.

The lens provides the utmost correction against lateral chromatic aberration which is a serious problem for digital SLR cameras.
